Ahead of the exhilarating and fast-paced SailGP this weekend, a memorable moment has already taken place this week.
In an inspiring exchange, the Te Ara Tukutuku team sat down with four incredible wāhine who represent their countries as pro sailors.
Our team met with Natasha Bryant (AUS), Katja Salskov-Iversen (DEN) Ellie Aldridge (GB) New Zealand’s own Liv Mackay from the Black Foils.
In a unique opportunity we were able to showcase the incredible work and mission of Te Ara Tukutuku to these elite international athletes who themselves have a clear passion for the environment and water on which they sail.
Liv Mackay, a true trailblazer in New Zealand sailing and now strategist for the Black Foils, also serves as an ambassador for the Live Ocean Foundation, an organization dedicated to advocating for healthy and thriving oceans—a perfect reflection of the values we champion at Te Ara Tukutuku.
It’s safe to say the morning left everyone deeply inspired and enriched with newfound knowledge. We’re excited to cheer on these extremely skilled sailors as they take on the high-speed drama of SailGP this weekend and showcase the very best of their talent on the Waitematā Harbour!
