The Devon Lane transformation is complete...
Over the last two years, Devon Lane, a key access way in Pukekohe, has undergone a transformation, marked by the completion of its final phase in December 2023.
A clearly demarcated area for pedestrians to safely walk along Devon Lane was completed this month with a vibrant new mural.
Before and after

The mural stands as a homage to Pukekohe's rich horticultural heritage, celebrating the town's roots and cultural significance.
Accompanying the mural is an all-weather canopy and lighting installations that now adorn the walkway connecting Devon Lane to King Street.
The project, initiated in 2021, saw trial improvements to identify optimal solutions for enhancing the lane. In March this year, the Franklin Local Board gave its stamp of approval to the concept plan designed for Devon Lane. This endorsement paved the way for further progress. By July 2023, construction wrapped up on the road segment of the Devon Lane project, introducing speed humps, raised speed table, signage, lighting and upgraded loading zones for local businesses.
Crucial to the success of these improvements was the collaborative effort involving Eke Panuku, the Franklin Local Board, and the Pukekohe Business Association. Working together ensured that the right outcomes were achieved, aligning with the community's needs and aspirations.
